    Introduction

    In this module, we will guide you on how to conduct effective library research, know where to look for information, understand search modes, build a search query and use retrieval tools.

    We also propose a hands-on digital activity during which you will perform searches using several different search engines as well as various catalogues and databases that pertain to the research topic you chose.

    Intentions

    1. To become familiar with all the elements involved in the Search step.
    2. To determine the best search tools to use depending on the purpose of your research and your research topic in order to find the information you need in an effective manner.
    3. To reflect on opportunities to use this step in your classroom.
