2.1 Introduction
Conditions d’achèvement
In order for you to learn how to apply the Inquiry Process, you will be asked to plan a research project. We recommend that you select a topic that you could use with your students.
You can consult the “Curriculum Connections” page on the Digital Competency in Action website at any time to see how each step in the Inquiry Process connects with cross-curricular and subject-specific competencies at your students’ grade level.
Keep in mind that these competencies are intended to be taught during the course of a cycle; you will not be able to cover everything in a single project. We suggest that you select the elements that are most relevant to your pedagogical intentions while considering your own information literacy skills.
Remember!
Students at all grade levels must be supported during the Inquiry Process, in accordance with learning goals.
Important
Although we are presenting the four steps of the Inquiry Process in a linear fashion in this self-paced training, it is important to keep in mind that this process is actually a dynamic and iterative approach.
Once the various concepts related to this process have been understood and integrated, it will be easier to search for and evaluate sources of information as you go along, using rigorous criteria. You will also be able to review your planning as needed or select relevant elements from a text to use in your research.
