[Music] Today, I will show you how to use Canva to create templates for your students to explore and respond to texts. What's interesting about Canva is that you can get verified to get Canva for Education for free. School service centers can have their domain name verified for their whole staff all at once. First of all, you will log in to your Canva account on canva.com using your professional email. Once I'm in Canva, I can look for the type of template that I would like to use. For instance, we'll do a character map. If I click on "Character Map," I'll have plenty of different templates that I can choose and adapt to the work I want my students to do. Let's say I'm going to use this one here. I want to now customize this template. Once I'm in the template, I can change the images and the text. There is plenty I can do to adapt it and modify it to suit my own needs. If I’m looking for an image for instance, if I want to change this one, I can go in "Elements" and look for a book. I have graphic and photo options. I really like the graphic option right here. There you go! So I'll choose this one and place it here. When I click on the image, I see the colors I could choose if I wanted to. You can spend many hours playing with the colors, but for now, our template is done. Now that I have this template done, I would like to share it with my students. First, I could change the name to "Template for Character Map." I just double-clicked in the rectangle, which allowed me to change the title. Then, I want to share this with my students. There are many ways to share this. If I use Google Classroom, I can share it through Google Classroom. I can also share it as an assignment on Canva, Google Classroom, or Teams. This way, each student will get their own copy of the design. Another interesting way to share this is by creating a template link. If you click on "More" at the bottom and scroll up, you can click on "Template Link." This will create a template link for your students to use to fill out the design that you've created for them. I hope this was helpful. Thank you! [Music]
