This course was developed to address the need to better understand the development of Competency 2 through the use of technology. If you have other needs or require further support regarding Competency 2, please feel free to contact your pedagogical consultant, your local RÉCIT, or the person responsible for ESL at your School Service Centre. They will be happy to assist you with any additional resources or guidance you may need.This course is also available in hybrid mode in some School Service Centres. This “Discover” badge is awarded to a learner who explored the content of module 1 and answered a few questions.
Apply
Length: 75 minutes
The “Apply” badge is awarded to the learner who has explored examples of pedagogical uses of technology to prepare students to read, view and listen to texts and is able to explain how he/she would integrate them in their classroom by answering questions.
Design
Length: 195 minutes
The “Design” Badge is awarded to the learner who prepares an activity integrating a digital tool to construct the meaning of texts. The learner shares the learning sequence, an example and a model for students.
Transfer
Length: 195 minutes
The "Transfer" badge is awarded to the learner who analyses an existing C2 learning and evaluation situation in order to make it solid. The learner also suggests two different reinvestment tasks that integrate technology and tries it out with students.

This module presents the importance of developing C2 competency Reinvest understanding of texts with an emphasis on some of the undeniable benefits of leveraging digital technology in the fast-paced ESL classroom.

Introduction
This module presents the importance of taking time to prepare students to listen to, read and view a variety of text types. You will be introduced to digital activities that can be used with students during the preparation phase. You will be invited to reflect on your practice and transfer what you learn into your classroom.
Objectives
By the end of this module, you will:- understand the different text types and text forms
- know how to introduce a topic to develop strategies using digital technology
- know how to prepare student to read texts
- validate your understanding of what is needed to prepare to listen to and read texts
